Wine-Fi News and Musings
  1. It's been over a year since my last post .....Oops! I never really figured anyone read my posts till a recent customer asked if I was still in business. I have no plans of going anywhere anytime soon . So what have I been up to? Well let's catch up , now where did I leave off ...oh ya !  "We love Hallowine" ....did get it done and my friends Kathy and Ron loved it !!! Blood is GOOD they said LOL Those 2 crack me up true Halloween Lovers.

That went over so well they wanted ghost next , oh and one drink wine....say what ? Let me work on it .  After some inspiration from here and there I came up with "The Spook" and "RIPPED" .

Ole Ripped turned out to be GREAT and I embellished on that with more versions. He even has a friend "Wasted Mea". I hope to get those posted on the Halloween page soon.

I've made some new Wine Signs out of wine staves .......

"The Enchantress", (that's what I call my youngest grand daughter, she's 2), saw one of my signs and liked it. So I made her one. I hope to give it to her today.

And of course I wouldn't forget "The Wizard" her older brother, (he's 4). When I talked to him about his sign I asked if wanted a little platform for 2 Hot Wheels or a long platform for a bunch of Hot Wheels, guess which option he chose..................oh ya those are my cars , he's got a bunch he can use.

Here's a few Full Barrel Head signs I did this past year , 1 for my friends at Medeiros Family Wines and the other for Son #1 and favorite Daughter in Law #1.

And one for some other friends of mine ...... On the Ridge Runner Wares I did just the Wood work. On Mead Maker I used some sheet metal to simulate the barrel hoops and used Wine Foil on the glas and bottle to simulate that liquid gold "Mead". Pretty good ideas if I say so myself.

Oh ya, remember my friends who wanted the Hallowine and Ghosts? Well Kathy decided she wanted a Flying Pig next .......Oy !!!

His name is "Floyd", he's a Pink "Floyd".

So, ya I've been kinda busy still and definately still in business.  If you've a custom need send me an e-mail,  info@wine-fi.com , let's see what we can do.

Till laters, hopefully sooner than a year, Keep on Wine-Fi'ing and be safe out there !

  2. What did I do ?
Well, I used paint on not one Wine Barrel project but two ! And this is, "So far". For the past several years the only coloring I was doing was either the Natural color of the oak barrel I was working with or soaking pieces in Red Wine Lees for a darker color. And recently discovered Toasting (aka Fire) to burn some pieces black. Funny thing about Toasting is I'd been working with barrels that well let's say were pretty toasty inside from the Cooper, it never occured to me I could do it too.

Back to paint. Several months ago I contacted my good friend Valentina of "Valentina Interiors & Designs" asking her thoughts of painting some of my projects. She felt that most people would prefer the authentic/rustic look of my work but she also didn't rule out painting thinking that there could be a new niche to be found. I still haven't gone full steam ahead on that yet but ........

Flash forward to a couple weeks ago delivering a Wind Chime and pair of Earrings made from Oak Chips used in Red Wine we got to talking about barrel ideas, signs etc. They wanted a custom sign but just weren't sure what it read or feature. A couple days or so past and I got a message from them, they wanted a Halloween sign that incorporated thier love for Wine too. These are very long time friends who are really big on Halloween and we've celebated Halloween at their place for a gazzilion years now ! They gave thier idea of something that said "We love Hallo-Wine", with a mini pumpkin as the dot over the "i" and love could be a heart instead. YIKES ! A mini pumpkin, had to say, "Sorry guys but all my lettering is capitalized but let me work your idea.".

I went with the Heart instead of the word love to save space, a Pumpkin in the place of "o" in HALLO and a Wine Bottle in place of the letter "i" in the word WINE", so far so good but ..... Toasting was still in the plan but I needed another color on some of these pieces. A Black Heart ? Could've worked. A Black Pumpkin? Maybe not. So paint.

What do you think so far ?

Pretty cool, painting the Heart, Pumpkin and Wine Bottle really added, but still a little plain. I was talking about it on Facebook in a total round about way not mentioning my thoughts that my daughter and I had discussed the night before but being the Halloween Fan my friend Kathy is she read my mind, (or has Drones flying around my house or something), "Dripping Blood!". I'm still working on that drip drip part !

Stay tuned to this Wine-Fi Channel and good thing I still have a little time to finish this up !

  3. "8 Years and still here !", Actually that had totally slipped my mind till a couple friends mentioned it. Guess I've just been to distracted to notice, baby sitting Grand Kids 3 days a week, working on new projects here and there, picture taking and editing, product posting, running other e-commerce sites and trying to keep up with social media. Everything is kind of a blur. I skimmed through my news letter/blog archives just for a personal reminder of these past 8 years. There were a lot of good times, events and cool products and disappoints through the years.

So what's new recently ? I changed a few pages around, added some new signs made from wine barrel staves for example :

Tiki Bar with a Lucky Tiki

Wine O'Clock with a real clock

    Napa Valley

And while I was on a roll I figured family and friends might like something this past Christmas. Which brings me to, if you'd like a custom sign send me an email info@wine-fi.com with your request and I'll respond with a quote.
Doing these signs, I figured if I could cut out letters I could probably cut out Wine Bottles and Glasses from a wine stave too. I figured right ! The wine bottles and glasses really do add character to my signs. Oh ya I did cut out some Hearts too from wine staves, just haven't incoporated them into a sign yet....but read on.

So what else is possible with these little wine bottles, glasses and hearts cut from wine barrel staves ? How about Key Chains !  (more to come)

And having such good friends ........ well goes something like this, "That Heart is cute, can you cut them smaller for Earrings?" , "Ya, I want Cats!" , "I want Dogs!"......Seriously !!! Oh well what are friends for. I've cut 4 sets of Hearts and I can still count to 20 and that's a good thing....that I can still count to 20 !

The last thing I've been doing is making my own Wine Charms, those beads are going to make me go blind !! It was suppose to be the wife's projects but .......They've come pretty good really. I really didn't start with Wine Charms everybody does them. I wanted to be different so before tackling that how would I be different ? Searching the net I noticed wine charms bundled with beaded bottle rings, metal rings etc. Well I do have a bunch of dounuts in my "Wonder Bin" from when I was cutting out holes in wine staves for my Candle Holders, what if ?
Eh eh , I like it ! And for other Charms I had gotten from a supplier, well let's spruce them up a bit too !

I took a  bunch of my Charms and Holder to Cottage Craft Boutique where I have a booth. To display them I needed a some kind of display stand, a Wine Bottle would be just too big taking up self spacing, but if I cut the tops off of Wine Bottles well there you have it!  That lead to another idea thanks to an inquiring Customer, "Does the Bottle Top come with the Charm Set?"........ "Sure !" . Have to admit I'm different now, a Charm Holder cut from Wine Barrel Staves and a Wine Bottle Top as the Display.

So what's instore for the next 8 years? Guess you'll have to keep on Wine-Fi'ing to find out.
  4. Well, remember I mentioned Daughter #1 having a baby girl in March? She’s graduated from “Scooter” to “Crawler”! Although I will admit that didn’t happen on the Grandpa/Grandma watch, but we saw it coming. Grandpa/Grandma watch is 3 days a week, seems like just a few days but one then has to cram in 7 days into 4 days catching up on everything else. All worth it though!

So let’s catch up, where was I ????

May 1st 2014 Wine-Fi mini store snazzy sign, ideas for others …ok!

Wine Signs – Doing’em, Got’em more ideas and phrases than I can handle.  Sometimes I think I put too much effort into my “Wine Signs”. Cutting out the letters, shapes, sanding etc., even inlaying tiles takes quite a bit of time.  One letter can take up to 45 minutes start to finish. Sometimes I think to myself I should just “Off Shore” the work for $2-$3 a day, have a gazillion of them made and sold at ……Walmart! But that’s not going to happen anytime soon or probably ever.

So far I have 7 signs, two of which have different versions, so a total of 9 signs ready to go.

GOT WINE – 2 versions here, Natural stave coloring with Toasted letters or Toasted Stave (ends cut off) with Natural colored letters.  Both include an inlaid Tile. Which do think looks better ?

WINE DIVA – this has or rather I’m offering 3 versions. First 2 options are a Toasted Stave, Natural colored lettering and with or without Bling . The 3rd option has a Tile with a witting wine saying , “Men are like fine wine. They start out like grapes, and it’s our job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they mature into something you’d like to have dinner with.”

WINE BAR and TIKI BAR – These two signs were actually my first. Toasted staves with natural colored lettering.

I LOVE WINE – Another sign with Toasted Stave and natural colored lettering.

BORDEAUX - Toasted Stave and natural colored lettering.

Kinda funny, my friend Connie who was a co-owner of Red Feather Winery with her husband had seen my first signs and immediately asked if I could make a street address sign for her. Told her then I hadn’t done numbers ….I do NOW!

It’s been a month into but, “ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?”.  I made a few wine bottle decoupage Wind Chimes with a Football theme. They came out really good. So if there’s a football fan in your life and they appreciate wine related items browse on by to Wine-Fi.

Well let's close this up till next time. Keep on Wine-Fi'ing and be safe out there!

  5. Where have you been? Slacking on this blog that's for sure. Otherwise been kinda busy.

Daughter #1 had a baby girl back in March and I've been hanging out in the mornings with the 2yr grandson. That is fun but doesn't much time in the day to do other things.

Where have you been?  April 5th I was invited to WASTED presented by The Cannery, Noise Furniture & Eco Monster . Had a good time, met other artist and listened to good music, showed off some of my wares.

Where have you been? How about where I'm at as of May 1st ! Got me a "Wine-Fi Super Store".........ok fine have a booth at Cottage Crafts Boutique . An opportunity for people to get that touchy feely with my wares. That's a pretty snazzy "Wine-Fi" sign too ! And after making that sign I have other ideas, just need the time.

Where have you been? How about where I'll be at ? That "Wasted" event lead into a recommendation for .....

How cool is that ! So 3 of our Decoupage Candle Pendants were requested , "Flower Power", "Ciao Italia" and "Eat Drink be Merry". I'm pretty jazzed !

Well that's it for now got things to do so as always ....... Keep on Wine-Fi'ing and be SAFE out there!

  6. Got a little busy the end of last year working on custom orders, dreaming up new ideas and working them. So let's review a few of them.

One customer liked my 2 Bottle Wall Mount w/Bung Hole Display but asked if it could accommodate a Bottle Stopper . Oh ya and can you make Bottle Stopper Letters ? Emmmmm, sure why not !

The Wall Mount w/Bottle Stopper option was kinda fun dreaming up and came out rather well .

You know now that I'm thinking of it, I've got to get this listed here on Wine-Fi, oops ! Oh well it's out there though just do a search for " Wall Mount w/Bottle Stopper option ". Besides you'd probably have a better chance at finding it on other platforms I'm involved in. Seems Google hates this web site and if I don't hand over my credit card, bank account and first born they're going to ignore Wine-Fi.com in searches. Ok time to stop crying over my spilt Wine !

Where was I, oh ya special orders ...... ya so my VINO Bottle Stoppers were appreciated but the question was, "Can you make other letters ? ".  Sure why not !

Playing with the Alphabet - Man some letters are a pain in your Viognier ! G and Q are going to be interesting and my first U (with little tail) didn't come out so good. I whacked that tail yesterday.  Completed Bottle Stopper Letters so far are AB, two versions of C regular and Wine Stained C , two versions of I , J, K, L, N's and O's are no problem (already doing those), P, R, S is a challenge but doable, U mentioned that just got to finalized it, V's are fine and Z's . These would make a great unique gift for Wine Lovers. The letters could be their first initial of beginning letter of their last name or even the first letter of their favorite grape varietal. Bottle stopper letters from wine barrels, HOW COOL IS THAT ! Remember Valentines is right around the corner .

Well, I'll end this for now have projects to finish and ideas to play with.

Keep on Wine-Fi'ing and be SAFE out there!

  7. I've been wondering how some of the "Other Guys" are cutting off wine bottle bottoms. The cuts and finished product to me look ummm "funky" but they must be pumping them out big time and I guess they're selling. So I experimented a new process to cut Wine Bottles over the weekend using a tile saw. It actually worked, more kinda than sorta but the edge looked really crappy compared to how I normally do it. Time wise it may have been a little faster but they'll need a lot of further grinding than what I normally have to do. Think I'll pass then doing that on regular bottles, but will keep it in mind for thicker and odd shaped bottles.

Gave my friend Nate his Incense Holder Saturday night (was his idea kinda sorta) and I was happy to see it (the Incense Holder) liked him. The incense actually burnt all the way, it never did for me.

Now to find other "Cool" bottles !

Stuff to do got to go, as always "Keep on Wine-Fi'ing" and be safe out there !

  8. Well we picked up a 6 needle embroidery machine last night and my wife is all kinds of excited, oh the things she could do with it, T Shirts, Towels, Robes, Napkins etc. etc. etc. OH BOY !!!

That's cool, her single needle machine would give her fits at times. I'm sure she'll do custom designs too.

So don't change that "Wine-Fi" Channel and stay tuned for new Wine and Grape embroidered Apparel in all kinds of shapes and sizes !

Meanwhile back in the garden gave my good friend Valentina (author of
Southern Italian cuisines cookbooks "Come Mia Nonna - A Return to Simplicity" and "Sins of a Queen"  ) one of our "Vineyard Grapes" wind chimes. Looks pretty good in her garden just hanging around waiting for a breeze.

Well I've stuff to do so till later "Keep on Wine-Fi'ing" and be safe.

  9. I was cleaning up the backyard yesterday and looked up and saw a "Strange" shadow on top of a umbrella, "Emmmm what in the world is that?". Got it it down and it was the piece of wine stave that flew out of my tablesaw 2 weeks ago, "Oh soooo that's where it flew to, cool !"

You ever wonder what kind of Wine Drinker you are ? Check out this article/field guide . As for myself, ummm I'm the Hawaiian Shirts and Flip Flops guy !

We all know about the benefits of Wine in regards to Health (when drank in moderation of course). Well ole Intel ( ya those Tech Guys) played around and got Wine running a processor. That gave me an idea
to start a new Business Venture. I'll sell you a Barrel of Red Wine, you can drink it (for your Health), power your computer and when it gets past the drinking stage you'll have Vinegar. This is like a 3 for 1 deal ! Who wants in ?

Gearing for Halloween so putting a little twist on our Wine Chime Wind Chimes. Spruced up a few with Halloween Themes. They look pretty cool and some die hard Halloween friends of mine gave me the "Thumbs UP"!

Also using the same above designs made Candle pendants to match.

Well I've got to get going on some other projects here so till next time, "Keep on Wine-Fi'ing" and be safe out there!

  10. Started making more Cab Soaked Bottle Stopper Displays this week. Tuesday was kind of a disaster, made a lot of firewood ! Took a break Wednesday and got my groove back
Thursday and Friday doing a little "Average White Band" on with "Pick up the Pieces" ! So the last 2 days things are looking good! Staves have been sanded and drilled and are now soaking.

Prepped some Wall mount supports, cut, sanded and soaking. When things started flying off the ole tablesaw I figured it was time to move on to sanding and soaking while I can still count to 10 without looking at my toes!

And figured I'd go ahead and clean up some Oak Bung Hole plugs I got from Red Feather Winery get them soaking too ! They're a furture project, kinda waiting for them to tell me what they will volunteer for, if you know what I mean.

Well I got go, will be doing some pouring at Red Feather Winery today.

Be safe out there and "Keep On Wine-Fi'ing".
  11. Ya ya I know "Wow 2 blog posts in 3 weeks!", Well it's a habit I had better be more frequent about. Pour yourself a glass of your favorite Vino and let's see what's up !

So, last month was about Wine Bottles, Wine Bottles and more Wine Bottles, (I still have a bunch of wine Bottles in process) , but I've also some completed projects "Wine Chimes" aka as Wind Chimes. Sticking to repurposing as much as possible still using Champagne/Sparkling cages as much as possible, Wine Bottles of course ( a few I had to empty they were good) and Wine Barrel Hoops on a good 99%. Barrel Hoops just are not big enough to be ummmm "Tingers" (for lack of a better term) in 1.5 liter bottles, but I've a few Wine Barrel Staves that solved that.

I've a few of these Wine Chimes listed and more to come. They'll be sold as Singles & Pairs shipping included to the lower 48 States. I thought I'd start listing the humorus versions first so here they are ! Oh ya, they're on the "Garden, Patio, Furniture and Decor" page.

"Chardonnay, Merlot and a Little Zin...Forget going out, it's Girls' Night In"

"Funny - after a few glasses of wine, I look like hell but the rest of you look better and better."

"One more glass of wine and I am gonna do the Chicken Dance."
                                                                                       Wine Chime Wine Bottle

As mentioned thought I'd start listing the humorus versions first, so what do you think so far ? Still to list are a "Flower Power" theme, "Jazz" and it turned out better than I thought, a "Purple Floral" design, some Grape Themed designs, my San Jose SHARKS and many more various themes.

Oh a big "THANK YOU !!!!" to Connie and Dan of Red Feather Winery and Bertha of Fortino Winery for Champagne/Sparkling cages.

In other news, last weekend poured with Red Feather Winery at Yelp's Summer Sip-Nic at Rock Wall Wine Co. So the event was located in an old Hanger at Alameda that Rock Wall Wine Co. uses, talk about SPACE ! With the hanger doors open we had a great view of San Francisco & the Golden Gate arcoss the bay. There was probably around 1000 plus Yelpers there and all seemed to have a good time as did we. Interestingly while wandering around I found that the Food lines were way shorter than the Beer and Wine lines, I guess one could say that was a bonus.

                                                                                                            See what I mean.

We did get to sample food though before all those Yelpers got there so it's not like we missed out.

That Incense Holder I was talking about back in April, finally got that just about done.
                                                                                   Wine Bottle Incense Holder

Pretty cool if I do say so myself. The collar there holding the incense is from a wine barrel stave I had cut out and added the Grape Charm for a little something something, otherwise it was kinda boring. I just need to make the holes a little bigger which I'll work on later today and then she'll be good to go .....I hope !

Well that's it for now so I hope you "Keep On Wine-Fi'ing" and as always be safe out there !

  12. Been doing a catching up on Wine Bottle projects. Cleaning of labels, cutting and sanding. I must have had about 15 cases maybe more at the begining, gave up counting. Currently do have 2 cases ready for decoupaging another 2 cases for etching. But still have more than 3 cases for sanding and that doesn't included those waiting to be cut, whaaa !

That reminds me I got to get with friends from Red Feather Winery and Fortino Winery and see if they can save me some Champagne/Sparkling cage wire. I'm going to need a whole bunch and might as well do it soon before the calluses on my hands and fingers go away from straightening all the wire out (that's always alot of fun).

Speaking of Champagne/Sparkling have you read articles about their health benefits, more specically how it can help boost Brain Power ? Check out an article here about that. But of course consumption would have to be moderate because we do know what too much does. You're dancing on the tables in a youtube moment, wake up the next day with brain damage and ask "What happened?".

Well all those bottles are still waiting for me so I better get to it.

Be safe out there and "Keep On Wine-Fi'ing" !
  13. Jeez Social Networking can get out of hand. So yesterday I’m reading an article about the Chinese Wine Market on Facebook by WineGlobe.com . I get to browsing around their “About” Facebook page, Contact Info click  their web links and come across, if I’m correct,  the old Networking Network “Ning”. Funny thing I just happen to have an account with WineGlobe there from quite awhile ago.

We send men to the Moon, come up with Synthetic Corks, Twist off Wine Bottle Caps, Glass Cork Stoppers and we’re just now getting around to Twist Off Corks ?

Changed up and added a few new pages, I’m sure to google’s displeasure.

Wine Barrel Furniture page has been renamed to “Made from Wine Barrels”. And would you believe Made from Wine Barrels was available as a domain name. Guess who owns www.madefromwinebarrels.com and what page it’s pointing to.

Supposedly per research, music can enhance you wine tasting. So next time you have a Cab tasting a little iffy blast some Jimi Hendrix for a whole new “Experience” !
    Jimi-Hendrix-008.jpg
More to the article can be read here.

Well let’s keep it short. Keep on Wine-Fi’ing and be Safe out there !
  14. Working a few different ideas for a wine chime. Did see some made from a stave and barrel hoops, cool looking but I'd think you'd need a Typhoon to get those a clanging. Wife suggested cutting different size sections from a wine bottle, I don't know sounds like a disaster waiting to happen and I have seen pictures...looks like a disater waiting to happen. In the mean time I've got 2 different proto types hanging.....so where's the breeze when you need one ?
Was at a surprise birthday party last night for my good friend Nate. Good munchies, food and Wine. The Atigal Malbac 2009 bottle caught my eye and oh yes it came home with me, it's a FP (Future Project).

And while Nate and I were talking about he mentioned Incense Holders he'd seen made from Wine Bottles , gave me the low down on them. I just need to refine it , a little re-engineering..ya I've an idea or 2.

And before I forget do have new "Made From Wine Barrels" products... Let's start with a Half Barrel Head Wall Mount Bottle Holder, Blacken V I N O  and Natural V I N O .

What do you think ? Letters V I N O were cut from a Wine Stave, Barrel Hoops holding your bottle of Wine and for sure my heavy duty mounting system made from a barrel hoop. of course.

Other thoughts, does any one ever see the discount codes I list on the right side of the pages here ? Where could I place a discount code that will catch your attention?

If you're out Wine-Fi'ing on Facebook stop by my fan page Wine-Fi.com , give me a like and say hello. It's another avenue to see what I'm up to.

Till next time, "Keep on Wine-Fi'ing and be SAFE out there !
  15. Yesterday was a good day. Started on some Sushi Trays, got the staves cut, no missing fingers and working on getting them sanded. Sanding does take up the most time but oh well.
Check out my Pintrest Board for a little collage of start to finish of my Sushi Trays. Also, working on another head. It's in funky shape so it'll be a bit getting it ready for whatever.

Well got to get ready to head up to Red Feather Winery in Livermore, Ca. Helping out in the tasting room today and hopefully pick up some more wine barrels, can never have too many of them.

  16. It's a New Year, 2013, and about time for a better late than never blog post.

First hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and were safe out there !

Our etched “Hanging Wine Bottle Candle Holders” and “Wine Bottle Pendant Lights” caught the eye of many. So much so we've been taking orders just for the etched bottles themselves. Any ways, to expand that line more we came out with Decoupage Candle and Decoupage Light Pendants. Pretty much the designs are interchangable between Candle & Light, all one needs to do is ask.

California did go ahead with the Nexus Tax and that really put a crimp in our business model with out of state affiliates (and their product links). At least the big boy on the block decided to work it out (Amazon). Little by little were bringing back or least offering the same or simular items such as "Appliance Wine Themed Art" ,  "Kitchen Themed Wine Curtains"  and more to come, nothing like choices choices choices!

Recently Wine Enthusiast Magazine anounced thier "Top 10 Wine Destinations" for 2013. One of those destinations is Puglia, Italy home town to a good friend of ours Valentina Cirasola who we feature here with her own page "Southern Italian Cuisines" . Come to find out she also arranges gateways to her home town of Puglia and has one coming up April 15th 2013. This could be the perfect trip, a Top 10 Wine destination, chaperoned by a proud home town girl who also happens to be a Author & Cook. She and her team will be waiting for you to land in Bari airport and get you to the farmhouse for the fun of your life ! And I believe her. See her video clip

Spread a little Wine-Fi love with a little ole’ fashion word of mouth and here’s a little info you can pass on:
WF1001 – 10% discount off most in-house items, discount code WF1001 never expires, share it with family and friends. Share it with strangers over a glass of your favorite grapey goodness !
Pricing on Wine-Fi – most items, what you see includes shipping already to the U.S.A.
So, as always “Keep on Wine-Fi’ing” and be safe out there!
  17. The seasons are a changing, days are shorter weather is cooler and the Harvest is done at Red Feather Winery. Most of the Cab grapes were shipped off to Napa (yes that Napa Valley).  To celebrate the harvest and have a little fun Red Feather held their annual Grape Picking/Grape Stomping Party, a great time had by all.  Why all the love sent Red Feather’s way? Well I got asked to put in time in the Tasting Room, create a new web site  for them (got to get their domain name squared away still) and just be my normal all around hand. It’s work, but it’s fun too !

As for Wine-Fi, it’s still chugging ..rather sipping along. Last post I mentioned upcoming releases of “Hanging Wine Bottle Candle Holders” and “Wine Bottle Pendant Lights”. I have a limited supply and they’re ready to go!

“Hanging Wine Bottle Candle Holders” – They’re a play on what else is out there. BUT, with a twist and a lot of untwisting. Sticking to re-purposing instead of using store bought wire for the hanger parts like many I figured Champagne Cages could work just as well and they did! Yes there was a lot of “Twist and Shout” (ouch!). Adding some etching to the bottles gives them that little extra originality. Plain bottles are well boring. I’d say they came out really cool!

“Wine Bottle Pendant Lights” – Another instance of seeing what others were doing and figuring they look a little funky I think I can do better. Switching out to candelabra light sockets give them a sleeker look I feel and adding the etching to the bottles, you know where I stand on that. I will admit on the Brown Bottle Pendant Lights I left it as is so I could use the Amber Light Bulbs I had.   Wish the pictures did these lights more justice though.
I myself really like how the Blue Bottles came out whether they be the Candle version or Pendant Lights . The tough part is finding Blue Bottles. Thank goodness for non-brand named grocery stores and their variety of Rieslings. Now to empty those bottles, rough job but someone has to do it! Bonus points for being needed “Material”, should be a Tax write off somewhere.

What else is going on? Any fans of comedian Bill Engvall and his skits “Here’s Your Sign”? Well Wine Lovers we have signs too with witty Wine sayings  here's your sign !

With all the changes Google keeps making I’ll say we’re getting lost in the shuffle and it doesn’t help when google doesn’t know the difference between “Wine-Fi” the wine accessory site and “Wine-Fi” the song. WF1001 – 10% discount off most in-house items, discount code WF1001 never expires, share it with family and friends. Share it with strangers over a glass of your favorite grapey goodness !

There are new ideas and twists to existing ideas always in the works.  Keeping tabs every now and then on our “New” page would be best. I wouldn’t want our News Letters to get lost in the e-mail bombardment we all encounter.

So, as always “Keep on Wine-Fi’ing” and be safe out there!
  18. Wow last post was in May guess I really lost track of time. So let's catch up quickly.

Awhile back I had prepped some wine staves for coat/hat racks (horizontal). Per standards studs are 16 inches center to center so my mounting holes should be 32 inches center to center. No problem I’ve made several of these over the years. Well for some weird reason I spaced out and measured with the bend of the stave …..I was an inch off, nuts! So those two staves sat till they told me what they wanted to be.  Couple months later I was enjoying the day, good wine good music hanging with my dogs, then I had a thought ! Why does the coat/hat rack have to be horizontal? Why couldn’t it be “vertical” ? Wouldn’t matter then if mounting holes were off an inch or not, GENIUS !!!!  All excited I grabbed a stave and got to work. It turned out great and it’d make use of normally dead space near front entrances like my home that have a narrow space between the front door and wall. A little later that day I heard two little voices, “Hey Boss, when are going to make us into those vertical coat/hats rack?” …… I grabbed prepped staves from a wrong pile!

You’ve seen the W I N O bottle stoppers cut out of a wine stave. Thinking about it, maybe not everyone would want to be classified as a wino. So how about we just class it up a little for a classy V I N O Bottle Stopper Set?

We’ve partnered up with a vendor who specializes in mini oak barrels. We’ve a web page, Oak Barrel Fun show casing many of their items, Dog Collars, Bootleg Kits (make your own Spirits !), custom quarter barrel signs and more. Hope you browse around.

We hope to post soon “Wine Bottle Candle Holders” and “Wine Bottle Lights” so stay tuned for those.

That should hold over for the moment. So till next time and hopefully sooner than last time, Keep on Wine-Fi’ing and be safe out there!

Last night was our ( Wife and I ) first visit to "The Mountain Winery" to see Buddy Guy and BB King. Very nice place to see a show and a nice view of Silicon Valley.  Unfortunately we didn't do any tasting while there so we'll have to make that a point next time.

New Products - Did finish up my W I N O Bottle Stoppers need to get pictures done now. So during my candle holder projects I saved the cores I'd cut out of the the Staves figuring they'd come in handy for something. Well my Wife did some wine themed embrodery on napkins and wanted a napkin ring. A quick check using my "O" Bottle Stopper solved the use for those cores I kept around. Again, need to get pictures done. Have a few other new products that need some final touches so stay tuned.

That's it for the moment so Keep on Wine-Fi'ing and be safe out there.

  32.

Newly added this past week Single Bread and Oil Board with Olives Bowl and a set of Pair of Hurricane Candleholde with handpainted Grape Clusters , remember free shipping to the USA.

New Wine Barrel products in the works - Been sitting on a Bottle Stopper(s) idea for awhile. I've cut out letters from a Stave spelling out W I N O , I've found a source for the bases so now their realy close to being done . Also, I came across actual glass tea light votives. Honestly I feel much better having a tea light in a glass votive rather than just sitting in a wine stave. So keep an eye out for these two releases.

That's it for now so Keep on Wine-Fi'ing and be safe out there.

  33. Wine-Fi Today

Comers and Goers in Collegiate Glassware (your team wins you win their glassware by Alice Allred goes on Sale), New products added this week, Fleming Jenkins Vineyards & Winery closing their Tasting Room.

As mentioned last week it would be fun featuring a Collegiate Glassware sale of the winners. Well something had to give here, two winners last week Auburn & Mississippi State faced off with Auburn coming out top.

Looks like I goofed last week featuring all the winners. I didn't check every team we carry just AP's Top 25. That has been corrected so every team that won last week that was idle this week is on sale also. In short just about EVERYBODY is Featured and on Sale !!!

  34.

Summer vacation is over, kids are back in school and College Football is ON! With that in mind I was looking over the AP TOP 25 and thought it would be fun featuring a Collegiate Glassware sale of the winners. Now we don't have all the colleges represented here, but we do have quite a few. Regular prices of Wine, Pilsner and Martini Collegiate Glassware is $49.00 for a set of 2, let's knock that down to $45.00 for a little over 10% off for the week. Your Collegiate Team Wins, you Win ! What Collegiate Team will have the longest running Sale here ?

Here's a partial list below (to see all in stock collegiate glassware winners see our home page)

    Oklahoma Sooners Pilsner & Martini

    Alabama Wine, Pilsner & Martini

    LSU Wine & Pilsner

    Florida State Wine & Pilsner

    Stanford Wine & Pilsner

Remember the above is just a partial listing of our Collegiate Glassware

Moving along here, 2 new product offerings :

19 yr Old Cabernet Bonsai - Being Wine Lovers we've all dreamed about owning a Vineyard. Then reality sets in, it can be very expensive nad we do not have the space. Here's our solution, abeit it's not a Vineyard you can own your own 12" - 14" tall Grapevine with this "19 yr Old Cabernet Bonsai".

6 year old Cabernet Sauvignon Grapevine Bonsai Tree - It's been skillfully cultivated, pruned and shaped over the years to produce a classic wine grape which hangs in clusters from this vineyard treasure. It bears tiny Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and even looses leaves during the Winter months.

Wine-Fi Shipping Cost - Pretty much shipping has been included in the prices of all products except our collegiate and 6 set wine glasses. So it's what you see is what you'll pay to "most" US destinations unless otherwise mentioned. International orders additional charges may apply.

That's it for now so Keep on Wine-Fi'ing and be safe out there.

  35. Hopefully Wine-Fi's latest additions of the past month will cover some gaps in product offering. Of coarse there is just so much out there it's impossible to list every thing, but we'll just keep Wine-Fi'ing away. Some new pages added : Wine Bottle Holders - a nice collection so far of carved wood bottle holders , Wine Coolers and Buckets – a wide variety here and many different styles should inspire and Decanters – more to be found more to be added.

New Collegiate Glasses - Florida Gator Head Wine , Florida Gator Head Pilsner and Florida Gator Head Martini . The IL Decantino and Crystal Glasses Gift Set taking the IL Decantino to new levels with this beautiful gift set including two crystal glasses with the decanter/aerator and displayed in a Beautiful Gift Box made of Wood and the IL Decantino Ultimate Gift Set takes the IL Decantino to another level. This beautiful gift set includes two Crystal Glasses, the IL Decantino, and a Beautiful Gift Box made of Wood with space for you to add a bottle Wine making this the Perfect Gift for that Wine Lover in your life.

  36. As the title mentions there have been many new product releases. Enough that I thought it'd be best to create a new page simply called NEW. Not only does it help returning Wine-Fi'ers and new Wine-Fi'ers see what's been added lately but it helps me too ! So, to list rather mention a few items –

Wine-Fi Gift Cards when you're just not sure what to get a loved one or friend. And they have up to 1 year to decide.

Licensed Warner Brother Cartoon Character Wine Pourers Bugs, Taz, Yosemite Sam, Wiley Coyote and Pepé Le Pew and Penelope Pussycat. It’s always a good idea to actually visit your vendors when possible and create an actual repertoire with them. You never know when walking into their offices when they’ll say “Want to see something New ! “ , “We’re releasing ….”, “A buyer ordered too many, can you help? “

With something “New” mind - New 6 choices of Women Scarves with a Wine Theme Art Wine and Black Vines to name a few. These scarves measure 14” x 60” and made of 100% Polyester. Very classy and functional riding around your convertibles on Wine Tasting days.

Something released – Old favorites from the Galleria Stemware Line Sapphire and Ruby to be renamed Rose' at a later date I'm told.

Can you help – I picked up just a few sets of these Swirl White Wine Glass Pairs Gold Swirl Gold Accents and Pink Swirl Platinum Accents to mention 2 of the 4 just to test demand and get your opinions so I can pass it on.

Well most of you probably heard one way or another California passed it’s Nexus Law Program aka Amazon Tax. I was terminated by quite a few other Affiliate Programs out there also. So that put a little dent in other product choices I provide here ( I can’t carry everything but I can link to it for you). There are those who did step up and I’m browsing their offerings. If it’s Wine Related, got a Grape, Grape Cluster or Grapevine I want it here for you.

I’ve added a Wine-Fi Chalk Barrel Head to my Retired Wine Barrel Line. Turned out real good and it’s just about 100% recycled from a Wine Barrel. I made a real nice one with a stand for my friends up at Red Feather Winery. The Stand itself brought on a lot of ideas so stay tuned for that .

Lastly I’ve been slowly changing pricing around to a what you see is what you’ll purchase for (Cal residents Tax still added sorry). Not every has been converted over but I’m working on it. Now this applies to USA shipments, International Customers additional shipping charges may apply.

That’s about it for the moment. Keep on Wine-Fi’ing and be safe out there !

  37. Finished up a new page last night for Hawaiian Wine Accessories Now all your Island Themed Accessories for those Island Themed Parties you throw are all on one page. Hawaiian Wine Glass Charms, Hawaiian Themed Bottle Stoppers, Hawaiian Print Wine Bottle Covers and Totes will complete your Island Themed Parties. Great pricing and Free shipping to the USA.
